The capital and largest city in Arizona, as well as the fifth largest city in the US, Phoenix got it's name from Lord Darrell Duppa in the late 1800's describing it as "a city born from the ruins of a former civilization." The NFL's Cardinals, MLB's Diamondbacks, NBA's Suns, and NHL's Coyotes share venues with other minor league sports teams such as the WNBA's Mercury, AFL's Rattlers, ECHL's RoadRunners, and a host of other sports teams. Sun Devils Stadium, home to the Cardinals until 2006, hosted Super Bowl XXX in 1996. Now, University of Phoenix Stadium hosts the BCS Tostitos Feista Bowl and played host to Super Bowl XLII in 2008.
